Chamoli disaster: ITBP helicopter arrives at Lata Helipad carrying ration
ITBP helicopter arrived at the Lata Helipad carrying ration for the villagers that are cut off due to the flash floods traversing through mountainous terrain in Chamoli.
As per Chamoli Police, few bodies have been retrieved that had reached districts of Rudraprayag and Srinagar due to Alaknanda River's heavy flow.
A massive landslide today blocked the Badrinath National Highway in Uttarakhand's Chamoli, disrupting vehicular movement. A 30-second video shows a massive portion of a hill crumbling and falling on the road and large rocks blocking the route at Chungi Dhar in Joshimath. People could be heard screaming due to panic and running for their safety, the video shows. Many of them were also seen capturing the act on their phones. Hundreds of people and vehicles were stuck on both sides of the road due to the landslide. The Badrinath highway was blocked in the morning and the authorities were clearing the debris when the landslide occurred.

The Indian Army on Sunday paid rich tributes to two soldiers who lost their lives in separate encounters in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district, which also resulted in the neutralisation of five militants. The solemn ceremony was held at the Badami Bagh cantonment in Srinagar. Lance Naik Pradeep Kumar of the elite para unit and Sepoy Pravin Janjal Prabhaker of the Rashtriya Rifles unit were killed during intense gunfights at Modergam and Frisal Chinigam in Kulgam district.
