As the deadline to prevent a government shutdown rapidly approaches, former President Donald Trump has dismissed a bipartisan agreement between Republicans and Democrats. Trump pushed for a controversial new deal that includes a three-month government funding extension and a two-year suspension of the debt ceiling, a proposal that was swiftly rejected by the House of Representatives. With crucial public services and federal workers at risk, Congress must act fast to avoid a shutdown. Will lawmakers come together in time to avert this crisis just days before Christmas?
