Officials search for bodies after horrific bus accident kills 47 in India
At least 47 people died after a bus plunged into a canal near Sidhi in central India on Tuesday (February 16).
The bus was heading to Satna from Sidhi when the accident occurred at 8.30 am.

The bus was heading to Satna from Sidhi when the accident occurred at 8.30 am.
All the passengers are said to be local villagers.
Over 50 passengers were on board when the bus fell into the canal.
Rewa divisional commissioner Rajesh Jain said: “Seven persons managed to swim to the banks of the canal after the incident.
Forty-four passengers have been identified so far.” Police and a team of State Disaster Response Force are conducting the rescue operation and searching for more bodies.
Local authorities have announced compensation for the survivors and the kin of the deceased.
