Attorneys for a Kansas City-area Proud Boy are arguing in federal court that their client was acting on orders from former President Donald Trump when he participated in the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.
Four Kansas City-area residents charged in the insurrection on the U.S. Capitol were in federal court Friday. One will remain in custody ahead of trial.
A Kansas City chapter of the Proud Boys actively “recruited,” organized, and conspired to commit federal crimes as a part of the Capitol riot, according to the FBI.
