BSF Maitree Cycle Rally team reaches Agartala

A 13-member cycling group of the Border Security Force (BSF) reached Agartala on Feb 18.

Themed 'Maitree Cycle Rally', the rally started on January 10, 2021, from 24 North Parganas District of West Bengal.

The group has covered a distance of 2,800 km in 40 days.

BSF Tripura Frontier Inspector General (IG) Sushanta Kumar Nath, Olympiad gymnast Dipa Karmakar and other dignitaries from the Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) welcomed the cyclists with floral garlands.

Along with the felicitation, a cultural program was also organized to honor the team.

The rally aims to achieve the spirit of friendship and amity to create a sense of confidence amongst the bolder population and to make people about the ill-effects of drug abuse, cattle smuggling and crimes at the border.

The rally will conclude at 60 Battalion, in Mizoram on March 17 which coincides with the 101 birth anniversary of Banga Bandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rehman.
