Beating retreat ceremony at India-Bangladesh border resumes after 10 months

Beating retreat ceremony at the India-Bangladesh (Agartala-Akhaura) border resumed after 10 months on February 18.

Amid the COVID-19 scare, only the Border Security Force (BSF) soldiers and their families were allowed to witness the ceremonial Beating Retreat ceremony at the Agartala-Akhaura border.

An elaborate ritual of lowering of the national flags of both the countries was observed just before the sunset.

Musical band was also performed by the Border Security Forces.

Bangladesh: Thousands of Minority Hindus Rally in Dhaka, Demand Protection From Anti-Hindu Mobs

In the wake of escalating violence against minorities in Bangladesh, hundreds have taken to the streets of Dhaka to demand urgent protections for Hindus and other vulnerable communities. Following the ousting of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in August, minority groups report a significant increase in threats and attacks, perceived as reprisals due to their support for her regime. The caretaker government, led by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus, has condemned these attacks but insists many are politically motivated rather than based on religious intolerance. #Bangladesh #MinorityRights #DhakaProtests #HinduCommunity #SheikhHasina #MuhammadYunus #PoliticalViolence
