People of Majuli lit earthen lamps to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for laying foundation stone of two-lane Bridge on the Brahmaputra River between Majuli and Jorhat on February 19.

People also came out to light firecrackers to celebrate the occasion.

Majuli is an island in Brahmaputra River in Assam.

The two lane Majuli bridge will connect Majuli to Jorhat.

PM Modi launched multiple development projects in Assam, via video conferencing on February 18.
