Tibetan activists hold candlelight vigil in Dharamshala over custodial death of counterpart in China

Around one hundred Tibetan activists and few foreign supporters gathered at Mcleodganj in north Indian hill town Dharamshala to hold a candlelight vigil to mourn and pray for Kunchok Jinpa who died due to injuries in Chinese prison.

Apart from holding candles most of them were also displaying the photograph of Jinpa.

51-year-old Kunchok Jinpa died in a hospital in Lhasa in the Tibetan Autonomous Region on February 6.

Local sources said he had suffered a brain haemorrhage and was paralyze.

He was sentenced to 21 years imprisonment because he shared information about peaceful protests that was happening inside Dhiru in Tibet to the International Media.
