Assam govt increases wage of tea workers by Rs 80

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on February 20 announced an increase in wages of tea labours by Rs.

80.

The total wage of each tea garden workers in Assam will now be Rs 318.

CM Sarbananda Sonowal said, "It is significant and historic initiative taken by BJP-led NDA government in Assam.

This is happening for the first time because during our brief period of 4.5 years, we were able to increase the wages up to Rs.

80.

Congress was unable to do it because of lack of their commitment to tea labours."
