On Feb.
22, NASA released a first-of-its-kind video documenting Perseverance's descent and touchdown on Mars.
As NASA's fifth robotic rover to have successfully landed on Mars, Perseverance is the most technologically advanced.
It also houses a small helicopter named Ingenuity.
NASA intends to use Perseverance and Ingenuity to explore and analyze the barren planet.
Nuclear-powered Perseverance also sent back incredible images of the terrain.
It will be studied and documented by using the rover's onboard tools, including a robotic "hand" with a camera, a rock drill and a chemical analyzer
