Free assisted-living devices distributed to ease lives of senior citizens in Tripura

Aiming to restore near normalcy in their bodily functions among senior citizens with infirmity, various assisted living devices were provided under the Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana during a free distribution camp at the Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan.

The camp was organized by the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), Kanpur working under the aegis of the Department of Empowerment of Person with Disability, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE) of the government of India in association with Social Welfare and Social Education Department of the government of Tripura.

The free distribution camp is the inauguration of the program under which 3226 identified beneficiaries in West Tripura and Khowai district shall be provided 7729 assisted living devices of different categories including folding walkers, tetrapod, tripod, stick, folding wheelchair, crutches, and hearing aid at a cost of around two crores.
