Officers from India's forest department used a crane to remove a wild elephant from a residential area in West Bengal earlier this week The elephant entered the West Midinpore area on February 25.

“The area was cordoned off to conduct the operation.
We tranquillized the elephant," said a forest department official.
"After observation, we will release the elephant in the forest,” he added.
