Sen. Coons: Dems will have other chances to raise minimum wage

Chris Coons of Delaware tells CNN’s Dana Bash he will work to find other ways to raise the minimum wage after a key Senate official ruled that it couldn’t be included in the $1.9T covid relief bill.
The House passed a stopgap funding bill to avert a government shutdown just hours before the midnight deadline. The bill extends funding through March 2025, providing disaster relief and farm aid, but excludes the debt limit suspension demanded by President-elect Trump. The bill now moves to the Senate for approval before being sent to President Biden. Speaker Mike Johnson and other Republicans worked to secure Democratic support, while Trump’s opposition led to changes in the bill's provisions.
