Watch: Shashi Tharoor defends UK Parliament debate on Modi govt’s farm laws

Congress Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor has defended the British Parliament for discussing the agricultural reforms in India.

‘Just as we, in India, can discuss say the Palestine-Israel issue as we've done in the past or we can discuss if we so choose any other domestic issue of a foreign country, British parliament has the same right,’ Tharoor said.

India had earlier summoned British High Commissioner over the issue.

‘Foreign Secretary made it clear that this represented a gross interference in the politics of another democratic country,’ a statement from the MEA said.
