Army recruitment rally held in Srinagar for kin of servicemen
Indian Army held a special three-day recruitment rally for the youths who belong to former or serving personnel.
The recruitment rally was organised at the JKLI (Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry) centre in Srinagar from March 24 to March 26.
Approx 3,000 candidates participated in this rally to get inducted in the Indian Army.
In this rally, the physical fitness test (PFT) comprised of running 1.6 km, chin ups, zig-zag balance, 9 feet ditch.
Physical measurement test (PMT) comprised of measurement of height, chest, and weight.
"I came here because my father was in Army and he taught me discipline and manners and to get up early.
I qualified the race as I am having my father and family's support.
I want to join the Army especially because of less income and family condition.
Youths whose father had been serving Indian Army should come and join the rally," said Amir Mugunmer, an aspiring candidate.
"Today it is March 26 and Army recruitment rally is going on here.
It's a great opportunity for youths to come here and join Indian Army.
I am very thankful I got shelter here and ready to serve the country.
I got my documents verified and prepared for one month and qualified race and everything," Alimer said.
