Assam polls: CM Sonowal confident of BJP's triumph
With the beginning of first phase of voting in Assam on March 27, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal showed confidence of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government's return to power.
He offered prayers at Boga Baba Mazaar at Dibrugarh.
"I am hoping 100% BJP govt in Assam polls with the beginning of Phase l.
This time the seats would increase as compared to last time.
We had followed the policy 'sabka saath sabka vikas' for all categories including farmers, women, youth, so all are in support of BJP and their alliance parties today.
I prayed for peace for all and victory for BJP," said Sonowal.
Voting for 47 assembly seats is underway on March 27.

As the BJP celebrates its victory in Maharashtra, voters have spoken loud and clear about what drove the win. Was it the party’s focus on Hindutva, or the emphasis on development (Vikas)? With the outcome favouring the BJP, the question now remains: who will take the reins as Chief Minister – Eknath Shinde, the current leader, or Devendra Fadnavis, the former CM with a significant political presence? The dynamic between Hindutva and Vikas played a crucial role in shaping the electorate’s decision, with many voters citing these two factors as central to their choice. As Maharashtra's political landscape shifts, the future of its leadership hangs in the balance.
