The multi-agency response occurred as the Beks Yilmaz was in Portland Port, Dorset, UK.
It has emerged that a body has been recovered from the hold and removed by ambulance.
Police and Health and Safety Executive are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.Police and paramedics were called to Portland Port at around 5pm yesterday after receiving reports that a man has been found in a vat of gain on a ship, believed to be the Beks Yilnaz.
Local newspaper the Dorset Echo reported that a spokesman for Dorset Police said: "At 5.02pm on March 26, Dorset Police received a report from the ambulance service that a man had been found in a vat of grain in the hold of a ship in Portland Port." A spokesman for Health and Safety Executive said: "We have been made aware of the incident by the police and we are making initial enquiries."
