‘Not an inch has been lost…’: Army chief on India-China disengagement in Ladakh
India did not lose even an inch of its territory during its months-long standoff with China in Eastern Ladakh, said Army chief General MM Naravane on Tuesday.
"We have not lost out on any territory, we are where we were before this whole thing started...Not an inch of land has been lost," General Naravane said while speaking on India-China disengagement in Ladakh.

Five soldiers of the Army are feared drowned after being swept away while crossing a river in a T-72 tank near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Nyoma-Chushul area in Ladakh early Saturday, officials told PTI. According to the officials, the incident occurred near Mandir Morh, 148 kilometres from here, during an exercise around 1 am. The T-72 tank with five soldiers on board sank due to flash floods while they were crossing the river, the officials said.

India has taken a tit-for-tat step in response to China by approving the renaming of 30 places in Tibet. This move is seen as a strong rebuttal to China's decision to rename places in Arunachal Pradesh. The renaming initiative by the Indian government comes in the wake of heightened tensions between India and China, particularly following the violent clash in the Pangong Tso area in eastern Ladakh on May 5, 2020.
