The Herkimer County Sheriff's Office says 10 inmates at the Herkimer County jail are facing felony riot charges after barricading two blocks inside the jail so officers couldn't get in.

New charges.... after a riot in the jail.

It happened just before christmas.... but we are just learning the details of what the herkimer county sheriff's office is calling a coordinated effort to stop officers from entering two jail blocks.

Not only did the inmates block the doors, the sheriff's office says they poured soap and water on the floors so officers would fall (and( wiped excrement on their bodies to expose officers who tried to subdue them.

One officer suffered minor injuries to his legs.
