Another explosion at the refinery prompted residents to be evacuated again at 9 am on Thursday.
Head of Balongan Village People's Welfare Affairs, Dedi Hidayat, said the sound of the explosion shocked the residents and officers.
"The explosion this morning wasn't as big as the first day yesterday, nor was it dangerous as it was the impact of the fire extinguishing the refinery tank fire," Hidayat added.
