Two homes were damaged by a fire on East Florida Street in Evansville on Wednesday morning.

Latest updates.... an early morning fire - damaging two homes on east florida street near the intersection at north morton avenue.... the evansville fire department called to the scene around 7:00am after the caller stated their house was on fire.... the fire had spread to a vacant adjacent home.... efd says - three people and two pets were inside the home when the fire start - but everyone was able to safely escape.... "there had been three occupants of the house at the time the fire had started, they were able to get out on their own and the neighbor called the fire department for them."
