Growth in economy will sort issue: Tarun Bajaj on bringing petroleum products under GST

Revenue and Department of Economic Affairs Secretary Tarun Bajaj on bringing petroleum products under GST said that this move involves interest of both state and centre.

Tarun Bajaj said, "Till we get both parties together and bring a solution, we can't bring them under GST.

It'll take some time, but with growth in the economy, the issue will be sorted out." Further citing International Monetary Fund, Bajaj said that country's growth rate will be between 11-11.5%.

He said, "It also has to do with low base effect, hence economy will grow.

World Bank has said that our growth rate will be between 7.5%-12%.

We expect a better growth rate this year."
