Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced ex-gratia amount of Rs 50 lakh for the family of Head Constable Raj Kumar Yadav, who lost his life in the Maoist ambush in Chhattisgarh.
"Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced ex-gratia amount of Rs 50 lakh for the family of Head Constable Raj Kumar Yadav, who lost his life in Naxal attack at Sukma-Bijapur border in Chhattisgarh," Rishikesh Upadhyay, Ayodhya Mayor said.
He said it has been decided that a road in the district will be named after the slain soldier.
Over 20 soldiers lost their lives in the encounter with Maoists on April 3.

A deadly stampede during a 'satsang' in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras on Tuesday claimed the lives of 121 people. Many bodies were kept on blocks of ice at a government hospital while grieving relatives waited outside to take them home. The victims were part of a large crowd gathered for a 'satsang' by religious preacher Bhole Baba near Phulrai village in the Sikandrarau area. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Hathras to meet the injured and announced that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) would probe the incident. He also mentioned that Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) would be established to prevent such tragedies in the future.
