WB polls: Media persons, volunteers allegedly pushed out from polling booth premises in Hooghly
As West Bengal went to third phase of polls on April 06, media persons and volunteers alleged that they were pushed out by security personnel from the premises of a polling booth in Tarakeswar, Hooghly.
"By and large if you go inside, voting is going on peacefully.
There were some jurisdictional turf issues involved here, I think most of the misunderstanding, not to mention the fact that at 1pm in the afternoon, things can get a bit hot for people.
The idea is to get as many as voters possible.
We can deal with it later," said BJP's Swapan Das Gupta.

Recent bypolls across seven Indian states resulted in significant gains for the opposition INDIA bloc, which won 10 out of 13 assembly seats. The Congress party secured victories in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, while the Trinamool Congress swept all four seats in West Bengal. The BJP won two seats, including one in Madhya Pradesh. These results are seen as a boost for the opposition and may indicate shifting political dynamics ahead of future elections.
