Remdesivir for those who are hospitalized, not to be procured from chemist shops: Niti Aayog

During press conference held in Delhi, Niti Aayog's Dr VK Paul spoke on Remdesivir, which is an anti-viral drug for COVID-19.

"There is no question of use of Remdesivir in home setting.

This is required for those individuals who require hospitalisation and are on oxygen.

It should only be use in hospital and not to be procured from chemist shops.

We appeal that there should be rational use of Remdesivir.

The drug is available in sufficient numbers.

We appeal to the physicians' community for rational, judicious, and correct use of the drug," said Dr VK Paul.
