COVID: Dead bodies allegedly carried in garbage van in Chhattisgarh

Four COVID-19 patients died in Dongargaon block of Rajnandgaon district on April 14 allegedly due to non-availability of oxygen.

Three of them died at a COVID Care Centre while the 4th died at a Community Health Centre.

They were taken for cremation allegedly in a garbage vehicle.

Garbage vehicle were allegedly used to ferry the bodies of patients who died of COVID-19 in Rajnandgaon.

Chief Medical Health Officer (CMHO), Dr Mithilesh Chaudhary said, "We've arranged 10-15 oxygen beds at every COVID care centre in district.

Three of them had died last night, they were given oxygen support while being treated, yet to gather info on the fourth.

As far as vehicle is concerned, it's up to Nagar Panchayat to make such arrangements."
