A south Indian professor devised an innovative way to recycle electronics and automobile metal scraps by transforming them into attractive and beautiful sculptures.
The artworks of Professor Srinivas Padakandla are installed in various parks and public places for the common people to witness and appreciate.
Padakandla, who hails from Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh, has tried to encourage people to recycle metal scraps through his metal artworks instead of disposing them off in the junkyards and metal dump yards which may result in harming the environment.
He heads a workshop of 15-20 members who help him create the fine art pieces.
He also trains students on how to transform metal into art pieces by sculpting them into various beautiful art forms and sculpture.
Professor Srinivas says, “My motive is to educate the people and the upcoming artists through my artwork.
It will not only sensitize the people about scrapping their old automobiles or electronics but will also educate them on how to make better use of them instead of throwing it in the junkyards, “Filling landfills with metal scraps cause soil pollution and this is an excellent waste management strategy that we have found to save the environment and curb pollution.”
