As per the purported video, the man was seeking oxygen cylinder for his ailing mother.

In reply, Patel could be heard saying that the man would get two slaps if he spoke rudely.

Opposition Congress was quick to take swipes at the union minister over the incident.

The viral video surfaced amid reports of acute oxygen shortage across the country.

Patel, who is the MP from Damoh, was inspecting the district hospital in Damoh.

Patel's inspection comes two days after oxygen cylinders were looted from the hospital.

On Thursday, Damoh reported 167 coronavirus cases, its highest daily rise.
