The 'Oxygen Express', carrying 6 Oxygen tankers, from Jharkhand's Bokaro arrived at Mandideep railway station in Bhopal on Apr 28.
Two tankers unloaded at Mandideep and rest of them were sent to Sagar and Jabalpur.
The requirement of oxygen has soared in the country due to COVID situation and in view of this, Railways is running 'Oxygen Express' trains to meet the demand.
The Bhopal Gas Tragedy, often referred to as the world's worst industrial disaster, unfolded in the early hours of December 3, 1984. A pesticide factory owned by the American Union Carbide Corporation leaked methyl isocyanate gas, exposing over half a million people in Bhopal to deadly toxins. The immediate aftermath was catastrophic, with 5,474 deaths officially recorded and countless others maimed for life. Even decades later, survivors continue to suffer from chronic health issues, while the toxic legacy of the disaster lingers in the soil and water of the affected areas.
