Quick-thinking employee controls flames after motorcycle catches fire
A quick-thinking employee helped control the flames after a motorcycle caught fire outside his shop in the Philippines.
CCTV footage shows the worker rushing to the pavement with a fire extinguisher to douse a burning scooter in Laguna province on April 13.
The motorcycle rider was waiting for the red light when he noticed white smoke coming out of the two-wheeler’s back seat.
The frantic rider tried to put out the fire by slapping on the seat repeatedly but without success so he had to abandon the scooter to call for help.
Fortunately, the employee on one of the nearby shops was alert and immediately went out to help him put out the flames.
Shop manager Argie Rugeria said: ‘The man who helped extinguish the fire is one of our employees.
We were stunned but he immediately grabbed the fire extinguisher and went out.’ Argie added that the unidentified rider rushed to leave after thanking them so he could have his scooter repaired at a garage.
He said: ‘He left immediately so we didn’t have a chance to ask about him.
It seemed like the rider had no idea what caused the fire.’
