Devotees offer prayers at Golden Temple on 400th birth anniversary of Guru Teg Bahadur

Devotees arrived at Amritsar's Golden Temple on May 01 to celebrate 400th birth anniversary of Guru Teg Bahadur.

They took dip in the holy water and offered prayers.

State government has decided to spread the message of national integration by organising special programs from April 28 to May 1 on 'Guru Teg Bahadur-Hind Di Chadar'.

They have also declared holiday on May 01.

Guru Teg Bahadur was the ninth Guru (April 1, 1621-November 11, 1675) of the Sikh religion.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 08 said that the occasion of the 400th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur ji is a spiritual privilege as well as a national duty.
