Forest officials in the Indian district of Tamilnadu responded to a villager's alert after an 8-foot-long alligator was spotted in the area.

It is common to see crocodiles venturing in the village as it's near a forest but locals said they had never seen such a giant creature.

The reptile was immediately caught and released in the river.
