Thais Diehm and her daughter Preslee sit in front of the mirror each day and recite a number of positive affirmations such as "I am beautiful" and "I am kind." Thais said: "The daily affirmations I previously did for myself before Preslee was born and I just started doing them with her as well in hopes it would instil some confidence in her!

"My family absolutely love it.

My family thinks it’s a great idea.

Anything that could possibly help our children why would we not try to do it.

"Preslee is a very anxious child who also has slight night terrors.

The affirmations have helped reassure her that she can do things by herself and she’ll be okay.

Even days like playing alone she gets scared and I have her repeat to me “I’m okay I’m a strong girl.”
