The marine animal shook its flippers while a fisherman carried it back to the water in Culasi, Antique on April 8.
Resident Tess Salazar Fortaleza said they were on the beach waiting for the fresh catch when a fisherman unravelled his net and found the creature inside.
She said: "The turtle looked happy because he probably knew that the people who caught him won’t hurt him.
The turtle then swam away and we bought fish."
