Oscar-Winning Actor Chris Cooper and Actress and Screenwriter Marianne Leone Collaborate on Short Film Nuts for Tribeca Film Fes
He's an Oscar-winning actor, she an accomplished actress and writer, together they've created a short film, which debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival this week, entitled Nuts.
Chris Cooper and wife Marianne Leone Cooper say they were pushed out of their comfort zones while producing the project.
Besides writing and directing, the couple also co-stars in the film, along with their late dog and some wild turkeys.
Shot in two days at their home, the story showcases the love still palpable and present between a divorced couple who come back together amid the COVID-19 crisis.
It was also the first time the two have acted together since before they were married in 1983.
The film is part of a two-volume anthology titled WITH/In, comprised of short vignettes dealing with life in quarantine in which Julianne Moore, Don Cheadle, Sanaa Lathan, Rebecca Hall, Alessandro Nivola, Emily Mortimer, and Rosie Perez also took part in.
We sat down with the inspiring husband and wife team virtually from their home set in Massachusetts to talk all about the making of the film and how they've kept their own marriage strong after almost 38 years.
