After a bride's father died in an accident before her wedding, a policeman came forward to perform the late parent's duties during the ceremony in central India's Madhya Pradesh on July 2.
The incident took place in Purwa village in Chhatarpur district.
Video shows the police officer performing the rituals required.
Following this, the cops congratulate the newlywed couple while the bride weeps all along.
After a while, the cop bids adieu to his new 'daughter' and assures her that he will always keep her safe and ensure her well-being.
In a tragic incident, her father, Rajwa Kewat, died after getting crushed by a stone.
This threatened to derail Golu Kewat's wedding celebration as no one could fulfill her father's ceremonial duties.
Fortunately, the cops who reached the spot to investigate the matter received information about the pending marriage and swung into action to conclude the ceremony.
Following this, the Bansiya police station's officer-in-charge, Rajkumar Lotiya, fulfilled the role of Golu's father and made all necessary arrangements during the occasion.
