On this day in 1960 an important water sharing treaty between India and Pakistan was brokered by the World Bank.
The liberal water sharing agreement was signed between India and Pakistan in Karachi by the then Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and Pakistan President Ayub Khan.

On the occasion of Independence day, we visited the renowned cellular jail in Dehradun and that ward where the first PM of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was jailed many times. It is also known as Nehru Heritage Centre. Pandit Nehru was sent to this jail for the first time in the year 1932 during the British rule. After which he was imprisoned here in 1934, 1935 and 1941 also.
