England Calls for an End, to All Government-Mandated, COVID Restrictions.
NBC reports that on February 24, England lifted all government-mandated COVID-19 restrictions.
Even the legal requirement for anyone who
tests positive to isolate at their home has been lifted.
.
According to officials, those who test positive will still be advised to stay home for at least five days, but they will no longer be legally required to do so.
.
The decision also means that those with lower incomes will no longer receive financial support to compensate for a loss of wages due to isolation.
.
NBC reports that routine contact tracing
of infected individuals has also been halted.
.
On February 21, British Prime Minister
Boris Johnson laid out the Conservative
government's plan for "living with COVID" long term.
.
This plan also reportedly includes scaling back free universal COVID-19 testing beginning on April 1.
.
NBC reports that in January, most coronavirus restrictions were already lifted in England.

The Conservatives have voiced disappointment at the US decision not to support a UN resolution condemning Russia's war against Ukraine â even though it was co-sponsored by the UK. However, Shadow Environment Secretary Victoria Atkins says it is still important to support President Trump in his wish to bring about a peaceful resolution to the conflict, despite the US siding with Russia in last nightâs vote.

Donald Trumpâs controversial proposal to purchase Greenland from Denmark has sparked intense debate across the United States. The former president, citing national security reasons, revived the idea in his latest political moves, despite the pushback from many corners. A recent USA TODAY poll reveals that only 11% of Americans fully support the idea, while 29% think it's a good but unrealistic notion. In stark contrast, 53% of respondents opposed the plan, with the division deepening across party lines â 86% of Democrats rejected the proposal, while only 23% of Republicans supported it. The idea has met widespread opposition, with many questioning its feasibility and the long-term implications of such a move.
