In a first transit since Nancy Pelosi's through the Taiwan strait, two US Navy ships sailed through the strait on Sunday.
This is the first such transit reported since U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan earlier in August, at a time when tensions have kept the waterway particularly busy.
At the Paris Olympics, two boxers, Imane Khelif from Algeria and Lin Yu-ting from Taiwan, have advanced to gold medal matches in their respective weight categories at the Paris Olympics. These athletes have been at the center of controversy due to questions about their eligibility to compete in women's events. The IBA had found XY chromosomes in their DNA last year. Despite this the athletes have reached Finals of Paris Olympics.
