Has been charged with one count of “attempted kidnapping of a U.S. official.”.

DePape was prepared to detain and injure Speaker Pelosi when he entered the Pelosi residence in the early morning of October 28, 2022, FBI agent, via sworn affidavit.

DePape had zip ties, tape, rope, and at least one hammer with him that morning, FBI agent, via sworn affidavit.

DePape was also charged with one count of assault , of a member of the immediate family of a U.S. official with an intent to retaliate against such an official on account of the performance of official duties.

CNN reports that Paul Pelosi was speaking in code to 911 as the situation escalated.
