.

NPR reports that once again, Georgia is key to determining which party controls the United States Senate.

Neither candidate received the necessary 50% of votes to win the election outright per Georgia's law, which sets up the post-Thanksgiving runoff showdown.

Warnock reportedly told his followers that he remains confident heading into the runoff.

Here's where we are: We are not sure if this journey is over tonight, or if there's still a little work yet to do.

But here's what we do know: We know that when they're finished counting the votes from today's election that we're going to have received more votes than my opponent, Raphael Warnock, Democratic Senator of Georgia, via NPR.

NPR reports that early results show Walker trailing by about 200,000 votes and down nearly five points overall.

Despite the slight edge, Warnock was still unable to secure the necessary 50% of the votes to prevent the decision from heading into a runoff.

Numerous Republican senators have rallied for Walker's campaign, pinning their hopes of winning back the Senate majority on the first-time candidate.
