Canada: NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh on Pediatric Hospitals, RCMP Contract, Firearms Bill – December 7, 2022
NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh holds a news conference on Parliament Hill to discuss the ongoing burden on pediatric hospitals across the country as they cope with a surge in respiratory illnesses.
He is calling on the federal government to convene an emergency First Ministers meeting and provide more health-care funding to the provinces and territories to address the situation.
Singh also answers questions from reporters on a federal contract for RCMP communications equipment being awarded to a company with ties to the Chinese government, the Bank of Canada's latest interest rate increase, and an amendment to the government’s proposed gun control legislation.
