Sturgeon: My resignation is right for the party and Scotland
Nicola Sturgeon has stepped down as the first female and longest-serving first minister of Scotland, saying it was right for her party and the country for her to do so.
Despite being proud of everything achieved while in office, she said she was unable to give the role everything it demands and deserves going forward.
