North Korea has in recent days fired ballistic missiles amid the ongoing military drills between US and South Korea.
State media KCNA reported on Monday that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has overseen drills simulating a nuclear counterattack against the U.S. and South Korea in a warning to the allies who are scaling up their joint military exercises.
North Korea has issued a grave threat, promising to annihilate the U.S. and South Korea if leader Kim Jong Un gives the order. During a high-level meeting marking the 71st anniversary of the Korean War armistice, senior military officials expressed intense hostility towards the two nations, accusing them of provoking nuclear conflict. The North Korean military pledged to enhance their war capabilities to deliver an overwhelming and immediate attack on their enemies upon Kim's command.
