Rep. Al Green, D-Texas, was escorted out of the House chamber Tuesday night after disrupting President Donald Trump’s joint address to Congress.
Green, a longtime advocate for Trump’s impeachment, stood up and waved his cane at the president just minutes into the speech. His actions sparked a mix of cheers and boos from fellow lawmakers, causing a brief commotion. House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., reminded members to maintain decorum, but when Green refused to back down, Johnson ordered the sergeant at arms to remove him. As Green was escorted out, Republicans mockingly chanted, “Nah nah nah nah, goodbye.”

If the House passes the debt ceiling bill today, as Speaker McCarthy believes it will, the bill will then proceed to the Senate where it will require 60 votes before it can be sent to President..
