Russian warplanes hit vegetable market in Syria’s Idlib, at least a dozen killed | Oneindia News
In what is being described as a major flare-up of violence in Syria’s last opposition stronghold, nine people have been killed and dozens injured after Russian fighter jets bombed a city in Syria’s rebel-controlled northwestern Idlib province.
The air strike took place in Idlib's Jisr al-Shughur city which damaged a fruit and vegetable market as well.
The strike comes a day after Moscow's top mercenary group briefly revolted against Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, landed in Moscow for a high-level meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Their talks at the Kremlin emphasized Qatar-Russia cooperation in gas, regional stability, and diplomatic ties. Putin praised the deepening partnership and highlighted mutual interests in the Middle East, particularly Gaza and Syria. Both leaders expressed interest in strategic joint ventures and reaffirmed their commitment to peace and sovereignty in the region. The visit marks a significant step in Russia-Qatar bilateral engagement amid global tensions.
