Twitter, now known as X, will soon get rid of its light mode, The Verge reports.

CEO Elon Musk made the announcement on July 27.

According to The Verge, Musk's announcement drew mixed responses.

Several users asked the platform to keep a light mode option even if dark mode becomes X's default.

Currently, the platform offers three background options.

They are light mode, "dim" and "lights out," The Verge reports.

Other recent changes implemented due to the company's rebranding include an updated Android app, which now has the new logo in the Google Play Store.

The iOS app will likely be updated soon as well
