Beijing has recorded its heaviest rainfall this year as the remnants of Typhoon Doksuri passed through China’s capital, forcing more than 31,000 people to evacuate their homes in the city.
Heavy rain continued to fall in Beijing as well as in Hebei, Tianjin and eastern Shanxi as Doksuri dissipated over northern China, the China Meteorological Administration said.
The storm has been felt in China since Friday , first hitting the southern Fujian province with heavy rainfall .
China's meteorological agency warned that Doksuri's impact was far from over despite the reduced intensity.
The heavy torrential rainfall had forced authorities to issue the highest level of alert in northern China, covering millions of people.
The alert included 22 million people in Beijing and 14 million in Tianjin.
This is the first time such a heavy rainfall warning has been issued since 2011.
Japan’s historic visit to Cambodia’s Chinese-renovated Ream Naval Base has sparked concern in Washington. The port call by two Japanese warships marks the first docking at the base, which has raised questions about Beijing’s growing influence in Southeast Asia. Despite assurances from Cambodia that the base is open to all nations, the U.S. has expressed fears over China's expanding strategic foothold in the Gulf of Thailand, a region near the disputed South China Sea. As tensions rise between global powers, this move signals a significant shift in the region’s military and diplomatic dynamics. Watch to understand why this event is creating waves in international relations.

U.S. President Donald Trump has thrown a wrench into the TikTok deal once again, signaling that the fate of the wildly popular app now depends on the outcome of ongoing U.S.-China trade negotiations. While markets reel from tit-for-tat tariff hikes, Trump says he doesn’t want tariffs to “go higher” — but won’t back down unless China plays ball. With 145% tariffs already imposed on Chinese imports and Beijing refusing to play the "numbers game," is this the end of the trade war—or just the beginning of something bigger? And where does this leave TikTok’s 170 million American users?
