Mason Greenwood is to leave Manchester United following abuse allegations.

The 21-year-old forward has been suspended by the club since January 2022 over allegations relating to a young woman.

Greenwood was facing charges of attempted rape and assault until the Crown Prosecution Service announced in February that the case had been discontinued.

Gareth Southgate resigns as England manager

Gareth Southgate has resigned as manager of the England men’s national football team after almost eight years at the helm. It comes just two days after England’s defeat to Spain in the final of Euro 2024. Despite that disappointment, Southgate has taken the Three Lions to two European Championship finals and a World Cup semi-final during his time in charge. Prince William, President of the Football Association (FA), tweeted his thanks to Southgate for his leadership. The FA says the process to appoint Southgate’s successor has begun, and they aim to have a new manager confirmed as soon as possible. Report by Jonesia.
