Senior advocate Rakesh Dwivedi put across his argument about Article 370 before the Supreme Court bench headed by the Chief Justice of India, DY Chandrachud.
He said Article 370 was inducted in the Indian Constitution following the 1947 war between India and Pakistan over Kashmir, engineered by the British Colonial rulers.
On August 9, 2024, the Supreme Court of India granted bail to former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in both CBI and ED cases related to the Excise Policy. The court emphasised Sisodia's right to a speedy trial, citing his 17-month incarceration. Sisodia must pay ₹10 lakh in bail bonds, surrender his passport, and report to the police station weekly. The court's decision allows him to challenge the charges under more favourable conditions, following earlier denials of bail by lower courts.
